Gearing Up

Things are in full swing right now as we approach our big launch date on 2.22.09!!! Here's a list of just a few of the things that are going on and in the works.
  1. Material for the curtains has been ordered and should be here by the end of the month. We will need some volunteers to sew the top and bottom hems on the curtains. This project saves us about $2000 or more.
  2. The Val-Pak ad is due out this week and the Red Mill Neighborhood ad arrived on Tuesday.
  3. The first set of personal invite cards arrived in the mail today. They came out great. The logo looks really nice in glossy print. They are business cards that you can give out to friends to invite them to church. They have the launch date and directions to where we are meeting.
  4. Street/yard signs will be here next week. After reading all the marketing books on how to create a buzz about your church, I went with some less conventional ideas for the signs. I think they will catch people's attention and create some interest. You'll have to wait to see them.
  5. Our first set of sticky-notes came in the mail this week. They can be put anywhere that someone would see them: car mirrors, public bathroom stalls, doors, etc. The first set I ordered is similar to the yard signs. The next set will match the look of the yard signs better though. Let me know if you want to help pass them out. The day I ordered them I went out to my car (i was working at Panera Bread) and Liberty Tax had put a sticky note on my driver side mirror. I couldn't help but laugh. Seems good ideas are discovered by others as well. By the way, Liberty Tax is a company that believes in buzz marketing. Why does everyone know about Liberty Tax? Because they have people hyped up on caffeine dressed as Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam on every street corner in town. It's odd, but that's why you remeber who they are. Chances are that you can probably only name one other tax service among the dozens in town.

www.essentialchurch.tv

The new website is up and running. Check it out at www.essentialchurch.tv. We are still entering in all the content, but it's up and ready to go. There is a really nice search engine for looking up past sermons. Over the next few weeks we'll be loading in all the messages from the past year or so.

If you have the time to look at the site and read through the content, let me know of any suggestions to improve the site or corrections that need to be made.
